A fresh batch of BMPs arrived from Russia in Lugansk today

A large Russian convoy has been (secretly) filmed in Lugansk:

It mainly consists of BMPs and trucks, like these:

A mobile kitchen:

At least two ZU-23 airdefense on the back of a truck:

Several trucks with Infantry:

One MT-LB for command and control:

Gas for refuelling:

One truck towing another (because it broke down on the route):

A medical unit?

Civilian buses for transporting personnel:

Conclusion
The consistency of this convoy clearly indicates that this is a complete battle formation that traveled a long distance. In other words: a fresh Russian convoy has entered Lugansk.

Earlier similar troops had been filmed LEAVING the area North of Lugansk:

So it looks like the new ones have been coming in...

Russia commands to destroy the city of Lugansk

For weeks now shelling has been going on on Luhansk.

First with mortars.

Then with GRADs. See this blog for instance.

The BEST way to let the world forget about the downing of MH17 is to create NEW horrible events.

This is from one day after downing MH17:
Russia has ordered to destroy the city of Lugansk!
I double checked for the right translation:

This is the link to an EXTREMELY GRAPHIC video of torn apart civilians in Lugansk. This video will soon be removed from Youtube, because of its graphic content.
But it will give you a PREVIEW of what is to come.
Here is another one with some English subtitles. Note how the civilians blame Poroshencko because they really believe it was the Ukrainians who did this.

This will happen before the world nows it and is able to respond.

I have been monitoring the situation in East-Ukraine for two intense months now. I have not seen the Russians make these lurid videos yet. So I repeat: Russia is going to create a massacre in Lugansk. The shelling will intensify every day to come.

Powerful video of citizens who supported the fake 'Donetsk Peoples Republic' earlier, but now beg them to leave:

This is a video of people who are liberated from the Russian terror:

Here is a video by professional Russian Troll Graham Phillips who fails to get the right answers from some inhabitants of Slovyansk (translation can be found here):

(pro)Russians randomly shelling Lugansk and villages nearby

A lot of videos appeared today of random shelling of the city center of Lugansk and it's suburbs and the villages around it. With obviously severe civilian casualties!

The (pro) Russians are doing this (who else?) To produce images for Russian tv to justify that they will invade Ukraine.

The most severe attack is this one with a GRAD:

Same area but closer and one impact still incoming:

The area hit looks like this:

Here is one of the fires going on:

Same fire from the ground:

And the fire from really close:

Many cars are destroyed.

Blood in a baby car:

Several civilian casualties:

More videos of mortar shelling:

GRAPHIC:

GRAPHIC:

WARNING, very graphic:

Here you can see how they use these images for some OUTRAGEOUS propaganda:

Russia Today That video took down, Because in the end it WAS TOO STUPID even for Them. But it can still be found here:

Ok, also been taken down!!!
Now it can be seen here.

This means only one thing: Russia wants to justify openly going to war ...

And Europe, be prepared for this: the ammount of (civilian) victims will be beyond our imagination when Russia is going for this. Because they don't care about anything!

Some serious devastation going on near Lugansk airport.

Two videos from Lugansk with immense fires in the evening near Lugansk, reported to be from the airport. Fighting is still going on.

Screenshot from the last video:

The geolocation is like this:

On a larger scale:

The red areas are the highly likely areas on fire.

Closeup on airport area:

Closeup on South-Lugansk area:

It can be confirmed that this is from the airport area. It does NOT look like the airport buildings itself are on fire.

Some 15-20 vehicles may have been destroyed:

A Panoramio photo here Could be found from A Similar Point of view by daylight :

Fortunately it does NOT look like the entire nearby village of Peremozhne is on fire. But what IS on fire is unclear.

The Russian MilitaryMaps shows the operation Ukraine performed to set the airport free:

Another similar evening video

This video shows what happened earlier during daylight:

Screenshots:

It definitely concerns vehicles and not just trees or houses.

This is the first video of the aftermath:

Two destroyed vehicles can be seen in this video. It is on one of the two intersections in the vicinity of Lugansk airport.

A screenshot:

This corresponds with this map:

That location corresponds with the (small) fires seen in the evening videos:

This BTR:

is facing the airport and it means it came from the direction of the Ukrainian attack. So most likely this is a Ukrainian BTR.

The soldier in the video seems to be (pro)Russian, so likely the Ukrainian army retreated from this area again.

A better resolution video of the same location.
Another GRAPHIC high resolution video.

Screen from that video:

The BTR has a white line across the middle used as an identification for Ukrainian vehicles.

This page will be update when more info comes in.

ATO making a lot of progress in Lugansk?

This video shows fighting going on in Northern Lugansk:

This screenshot shows some typical landmarks:

They can be seen here on the map:

It means the cameraman is in the building at the yellow arrow.

On a larger scale it looks like this:

These are two of the buildings being hit when zoomed in:

In Google maps:

This is an overview of Northern Lugansk:

When the Ukrainian army is shelling these positions in Lugansk, it means they made a lot of progress. It confirms the reports that Metalist had been taken and it also means that the stronghold around the crossing has been taken (red circle).
It is also the location where a Russian cameraman had died because he was filming in the middle of some shelling.

The red cross is the location where the deadly ambush had been taken place that may have contributed to the decision of the ceasefire. (See this report June 19th)

WARNING:
On the other hand I have to make a note: the bombing seems to be quite random, very far spread out and it is in a civilian area. There is a possibility that this is NOT DONE by the Ukrainian army, but by the (pro)Russians for making bad propaganda against Ukraine.

Yet another Russian convoy rolls through Lugansk 1-7

Webcam video:

1 personal car
7 trucks
1 BMD?
1 jeep
1 tank
1 civilian truck
1 civilian bus

This will be a couple of hours driving from the border for a tank. It means they were on their way whether their would have been a prolonging of the ceasefire or not!

There is no time to turn of the webcams this time... Just bring them in!

New sighting of a tank not seen before in Lugansk 23-6

Here is a video of a T-64 tank doing a twist and turn in Luganskii a suburb of Lugansk.

Here are screenshots of the tank for easier identification:

It has white paint on it's right spoiler:

This NOT the same tank as the one revived from the Ukrainian army:

Painting is different. Snorkel on backside of turret is different. White paint was on the LEFT front spoiler and is removed. So it is a different tank.

What we do see is a similar logo on the snorkel as on the Metalist-tank:

Which is an indication that this IS another captured Ukrainian tank. So far we have not had specific reports about other lost Ukrainian tanks, although we did hear about substantial losses and we have also seen a very deadly ambush, where some other kind of armor was captured.

Another clue is that on June 20th, when up to 40 Russian vehicles invaded Ukraine, it was reported that the Lugansk airfield was surrounded by heavy armor. So far we have not seen any confirmation of this. But maybe this is the first incident? 6 tanks, 6 GRADs and 9 trucks that had been reported to also have entered Ukraine have not been seen up till today.

Although it is hard to geolocate this video, the description says this was in Luganskii, a suburb of Lugansk.

On the map it looks like this:

Basically we have two options:
  1. Either it is a captured tank that has not been reported so far.
  2. Or this is one of the tanks that entered Ukraine on June 20th and split of from the main Russian convoy to stay in Lugansk. Yet... it has not been been spotted as such.
Furthermore it must have copied the logo from the revived tank to hide it's origin.
Most likely is that is has been captured too.
It is deployed in the South were the main (and only?) target is the airfield.

As it seems in the video, the tank crew is doing it's own exercises to get ready for battle...

Also see: Russia sends substantial reinforcements into Ukraine.
Also see: Captured and destroyed tank from Metalist has been revived.

Ukrainian checkpoint prepared for attack by Russian air crafts

This video shows a Ukrainian checkpoint North of Lugansk:

Note how all this look like a professional organisation, including air-defense:

Since the rebels don't have air crafts, it means they are prepared for attacks by the Russian air force. Of course it can also be used against other targets.

Link to Wikipedia on the ZSU.

This is a another screenshot:

Note how the bank in the middle starts at this point.

On the road North of Lugansk, this is that location:

On a larger scale:

In Google maps:

The Russian border is only 30 kms away.

Deadly ambush on Ukrainian unit north of Lugansk

A deadly ambush has been taken place on a Ukrainian unit "Aidar" North of Lugansk on 18-6.

In this video some fighting is still going on:

A burning vehicle is behind the bushes and the munition in it is exploding.

(GRAPHIC) This video shows the aftermath of the ambush. WARNING: it shows 2 dead, 3 wounded and a dying soldier.
A translation of the text in the video can be found here.

This is the reconstructed situation map:

Locations are approximately.

On a larger scale:

Blue arrow = Ukrainian advance.
Red cross = approximate location of ambush.

On Google maps:

Screenshots from the second video, looking to the North:

And looking to the South:

Not that BMP 3 is facing north. It must have been turned.

This shot shows tracks on the road where the BMP might have turned:

This screenshot shows the shadow of the cameraman. He is filming with a pocket camera.

He is also wearing a gun:

This is where he films himself:

The captive soldiers are Ukrainian:

The rebels have the TOP notch Russian ATGM Konkurs:

According to Lavrov and Putin they grow on Ukrainian trees...

Another small foxhole in the bushes:

This video shows how they drive a BMP from the scene:

A screenshot:

This screenshot shows that the third BMP is on the background, so this concerns a 4th BMP:

Not the hole in the side of the BMP, where must have been hit.
There is a chance that the 'jeep' actually is this 4th BMP, but it is hard to determine on the 2nd video.

In the video a captured soldier said he worked 'on contract', meaning he was not a conscript.

Likely scenario.
4 BMPs drove down the road closer towards Lugansk, without infantery support. They had not noticed the foxholes, or may have thought they were abandoned. When the first BMP was already past the ambush location, they opened fire on the middle two, knocking them/the crew out. The first one had to turn around and come back to assist. The fourth went off the road onto the side. But both of them were taken out too.

Some remarks:
  1. It is not smart to drive BMPs down a road without infantry support. The infantry is supposed to discover and protect the tanks from RPGs and the tanks are supposed to protect the infantry.
  2. Note how the 'cameraman' actually is a soldier.
  3. The ambush was very professional. It is an art to hide and wait with shooting until you can get them all.
